Make eight granny squares to round 7. Join 2 granny squares together with right sides facing with a chain stitch through corresponding stitches of both pieces beginning in the corner ch-1 sp and ending in the corner ch-1 sp. Join 2 more granny squares the same way. With right sides together join both sets of 2 granny squares with a chain stitch to form a larger square. Four squares become one large square. Repeat for the second set of 4 squares.

Begin in any corner ch-1 sp of one of the combined granny squares with (1sc, ch1, 1sc) then 1sc in each st along side edge, 1sc in each ch-1 sp at center seam, and (1sc, ch1, 1sc) in next corner ch-1 sp. Complete 3 rounds of sc stitches, sl st in last ch-1 sp. Fasten off. Finish the 2nd granny square the same way.

Use a section of dark color yarn to join the two squares. With wrong sides facing, join the two finished granny squares with a sl st in each st around 3 sides. Insert the pillow form and complete the sl stitches along the 4th side. Fasten off.
